Jasper Kapteyn

Jasper joined CGA as a Fellow in 2019 and is currently based in Juba, South Sudan, where he has worked on CGA’s Public Financial Management projects. He has supported the Ministry of Finance and Planning in their pledge to increase budget transparency through implementing accountability measures and facilitating public engagement activities. Jasper also provides ongoing support to the Education Transfers Monitoring Committee, of the Ministry of General Education and Instruction, to ensure the timely transfer of funds for capitation grants funded by the Government. In addition, Jasper worked on a Third-Party Monitoring assignment for the Swiss Development Cooperation across several locations and led field research in Akobo. Currently, Jasper is working on the GAC-funded AGENCI project which supports vulnerable girls in emergency and crisis settings.

Prior to joining CGA, Jasper worked for Heineken in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, as a junior brand manager. He recently completed an MA in International Relations from Leiden University and has a Bsc in International Business from the University of Groningen, for which he studied and lived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for six months.
