What we did:

Eighteen-month programme to improve equitable access to primary education by funding monthly incentives for 30,000 primary school teachers worth $40 a month. Funded by the EU in consortium with Mott MacDonald. We lead on technical delivery and accountability of monthly incentives to primary school teachers, building on existing GESS systems for the payment of Capitation Grants and attendance reporting. Identification and payment of eligible teachers to be based on the Human Resources Information System for Education, which will be rolled out nationwide following a completed pilot in two of the former ten states.
