Nienke Voppen

Nienke is a young professional who has worked in several East-African countries. She obtained a Master’s degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University. Before joining CGA as a Fellow in 2017, Nienke worked at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a policy officer in the Africa department. She worked for several local NGOs in Uganda, and conducted qualitative field research on the plans to close Dadaab refugee camp, in Kenya.

In addition, Nienke also holds a BA in International studies from Leiden University, specialising in sub-Saharan Africa.
