Muniru joined us in 2015, based in Sierra Leone.
Muniru has worked in public sector service delivery in the United States of America, Ghana, Gambia and Sierra Leone. He has played a key role in supporting the development of records and information management in Sierra Leone and linking it to public sector reform over a period of 25 years. He served as Head of the National Archives of Sierra Leone and as Lecturer in Records and Information Management at the University of Sierra Leone. He has had a long standing interest in education and training. As pioneer in records management in Sierra Leone, he helped design the initial curriculum in Library, Records and Information Studies at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. He has developed and implemented a range of projects in Freetown to find means of restoring sanity to record keeping systems. Notably, he has helped develop and implement series of evidence-based public financial management and payroll systems.
Muniru has demonstrated and maintained strategic leadership and highly productive working relationships with key stakeholders in Sierra Leone and international development partners based on shared understanding of project resource flows and decision making processes.
