Alec Jackson

Alec joined CGA in 2015, one of six Fellows. Alec is a young professional and recent graduate with a background in international relations and experience in political organisation and general management in the UK. Alec participated in a voluntary humanitarian programme in Malawi in 2011 and since then has wanted to return to the African continent to work professionally in the development sector.

Alec is part of the CGA team rolling out a pilot HRIS for South Sudan’s education sector. He is involved in HRIS policy development with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the actual implementation of the HRIS and is participating in the broader drive for effective Teacher Development and Management in South Sudan. He is also involved with CGA’s work on the GESS programme, assisting to deliver cash transfers to girls and capitation grants to schools across South Sudan which help girls to attend school and schools to provide appropriate teaching environments for children to learn.

Alec is actively engaged in CGA’s pro bono work with Confident Children out of Conflict in Juba, assisting with sports and musical programmes as well as community engagement and fundraising.

Alec holds a BA (Hons) in HPS and Politics from the University of Leeds, and recently graduated with an MA Politics degree, also from Leeds.
